Recognizing Cultural Diversity in America
In 1997 Bobby Syed founded EMMA, creating an online portal and the EMMA Awards in an effort to recognize efforts made by organizations and individuals promoting the idea of cultural diversity. Based in Britain, EMMA brings to light this subject of diversity at home, but we do not limit our efforts to our nation and our nation alone. As a platform for cultural diversity, EMMA also strives to recognize the efforts being made toward cultural diversity in America and across the globe.
There are people and groups around the world that are passionate about achieving diversity among cultures. EMMA offers resources that can be used to enlighten and foster these efforts. EMMA works to serve as an outlet and an example for others who share in our dedication. Not only do we recognize those who are striving toward cultural diversity in America and other nations, but we are excited to bring the EMMA Awards to other countries. We are providing the opportunity for other countries to exhibit the diversity efforts being made in their countries and communities.
Diversity is a worldwide effort. Success in one country means there is still more ground to be gained elsewhere. We are excited when we are able to provide recognition for positive efforts made in this direction but we know there is much more work to be done. Always looking for ways to improve, EMMA is proud to serve as a reference point in Britain and for other locations. We hope to provide as many opportunities as possible for involvement. From events, to news, to general information, the breadth of information we offer continues to grow and change, just as this topic continues to evolve. Our hope is to spread the word and the achievements of those who are doing something to make a change. Making these efforts known is just part of stirring more efforts by more people, making more of a difference.
