Cultural Diversity in the News

As an individual you may see or hear a story in the news that seemingly has little or no significance to you or your daily life. Sometimes it takes listening to or watching the news in a different way to see how it really does pertain to you. Highlighting cultural diversity in the news is one way EMMA perpetuates action in this direction and relates the news and happenings around you to your life.

EMMA recognizes those individuals and organizations that are taking notice of issues that can be remedied in our society and taking action. Recognizing diversity in the media, whether it is a celebrity or a business making an effort, brings to light the information of which we all need to be aware. If we all adopt a mindset of ownership and responsibility when it comes to our surroundings and the things going on around us then we'll all come together to create an environment in which we all thrive.

EMMA directs attention to those who are putting themselves "out there" in the name of cultural diversity. Individuals in the media, celebrities, and others whose passion is to promote equality are recognized for their efforts to promote diversity in the media as well as in society as a whole. EMMA is endorsed by names including Muhammad Ali, Nelson Mandela, Tony Blair, and others who have made cultural diversity a priority and give importance to this effort. By giving access to news, including arts and culture news, we are able to highlight cultural diversity efforts in Britain and around the world; we are your partner in helping the world embrace all of our differences.

If EMMA does one thing it is to show that diversity is truly a part of every area of our lives. Claiming diversity in one area and not others is not a true mark of a real effort. This is why you'll find arts and culture news, as well as world news and information tied to this issue. Spanning all areas of life in all places in the world we must work to promote this cause everywhere we go with everyone we know. Recognize those who make efforts in cultural diversity in the news and others will see examples of what it is to establish better, diverse communities wherever we are.
