Ethic and Corporate Social Responsibility

What is social responsibility? It is more than just writing a check to an organization and going on about your business. While that may have been a sufficient way to take care of those less fortunate in years past, and is still welcome, being socially responsible is more than the money you have to offer. Ethic and corporate social responsibility is displayed by making a commitment to society and following through. As a business, individual, or group of individuals interested in perpetuating social change, differences are made by showing more of a surface interest in your communities. It's about getting involved and truly learning about the social issues affecting your communities. Economic, environmental, and social changes can be made by choosing to live an ethical lifestyle and becoming aware of those around you. Your influence as a business or individual can have more of an impact than you may initially think. It starts with self-awareness and then working to make others aware.

Living an Ethical Lifestyle

The fight between good and evil, right and wrong, is an ongoing fight we see portrayed in movies and other fictional expressions. When it comes to reality, right and wrong is very much present in the personal decisions we make as well as decisions we make that influence those around us. Living an ethical lifestyle isn't always easy. Choosing between right and wrong often means choosing between friends and distancing yourself from people and places that are comfortable.

On a grander scale, living out a life characterized by positive choices can also influence society. We all have ethic and corporate social responsibility. Some choose to embrace it while others choose to ignore it. EMMA demonstrates what it is to be socially responsible and offers examples of people and organizations exhibiting these traits.
