Kelis Compares Pregnancy to “Purgatory”

Kelis Compares Pregnancy to “Purgatory”R&B stat and heavily pregnant singer Kelis cannot wait to go into labour.

She told Female First being pregnant is like “living in purgatory”. Kelis has shared her discomfort with fan on Twitter, she says she feels like she has “been pregnant forever” and complains “It's an eternity”.

The signer further reveals: "My rib cage is being attacked by my stomach which is annihilating my lungs. I want this little Martian now! I can't wait - the suspense is crazy. I hate waiting. I have probably six to eight weeks left! Longest time in my life! I need to have this baby pronto! I'm over this figure!"

Known for her sexy and revealing outfits, the provocative singer seems to suffer most from the loss of her fashion freedom and cannot wait to get back into skinny jeans she enticed us with in the video to her hit single “Milkshake”.

She adds: "Good grief, a girl can only stand but so much Lycra in one lifetime. I have had enough… I want corsets and tight jeans and platform stilettos and I want it now!"

Luckily for the R&B star the baby is due in roughly a month, July 21st. The long awaited baby boy will be the first child for Kelis with her estranged rapper husband Nasir Bin Olu Dara Jones, known as Nas. Just last month the power couple shocked the urban music scene, when the news of their break-up was made public. After seven years together and in her third trimester of pregnancy, the singer had filed for a divorce due to "irreconcilable differences" as the Daily Mail reported. The rapper has already got a daughter aged 15 from a previous relationship.

MTV News has reported Kelis of accusing Nas of abandoning her and her baby. Kelis will seek child support from her ex, reportedly seeking up to $30,000 for birthing necessities in the build-up and during the birth of the their baby.

A statement made by the singer said: "I have run out of money," adding: "My survival is based on [Nas'] will at this time. If he does not want to pay for an expense, it does not get paid.”
