Reporting Racism in the News

At EMMA we highlight issues rather than stories. By bringing attention to issues we offer an education that is more than simply a regurgitation of news. Issues educate our supporters and others about what needs to be addressed in our society rather than simply reading a story and moving on to something else. Learning about racism in the news is important - it allows us to know what is going on around us. But, by highlighting issues, we bring to light the deeper meaning behind those news stories and work towards change so that those stories become testimonies of what can be done through positive efforts.

News on tolerance and racism is something we will always hear. Whether happening in our own communities, in the workplace, or at another location near or far from us, these are issues that need to be known. The information on our site offers ideas and solutions for spreading tolerance and working to put an end to racism. Even though events unfold in places other than our own communities sometimes, they are proof that there are still problems that need to be addressed. It starts at home and can spread as we work toward tolerance and the embracing of cultural diversity.

News on Tolerance and Racism

It's easy to see the differences in others but does it occur to us that the differences work both ways? Just as we are working to accept the differences of other people and cultures they must work to accept our differences as well. The news on tolerance and racism that we are exposed to may often appear to be telling just one side of the story, but we know that it takes us all to bring about tolerance and acceptance.

EMMA takes issues that are going on all over the world and presents them as opportunities to take action. Discover what is taking place in the United States, Africa, Asia, and elsewhere and learn about ways in which you can help in your own communities. Racism in the news is something that should spur us to do something no matter where we are. When determining what steps to take, EMMA can help.
